It not only increases our effectiveness and enables us to run our organisation, it also and helps immensely in building trust with the women and community who we serve. This is a vital component to outworking our purpose in their lives.

Are you finishing high school or university and want to put what you’ve learned into action? We have a 8-11 week internship program where you will get to put your skills into action and impact lives!
This is an opportunity equip yourself in new and different ways in a non-profit and cross cultural setting, expanding your world view and adding to your life skills. This is also an excellent chance to refine and increase your professional skill before starting in the work force full time! These things also look great to future employers and universities!
We have various areas for graduates to get involved from media and photography to Weaving, jewellery making, or beauty classes and cooking. English teaching or in ministry areas such as discipleship and worship leading.
Upon completing this internship, you will receive a certificate of achievement, a letter of recommendation and items for your portfolio* – if applicable.

Bring a team!
We love to welcome teams for short term, project-based assignments. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your team while experiencing living and serving in a cross cultural setting in Mozambique Africa. We have many projects suitable for teams to take on like: assisting in our Hospitality, Artisanal Development or Beauty Vocational Training Programs, volunteer in our Liberty Cafe or Salon, or run a specialised applicable course for our ladies or staff team…we are also open to ideas! photographer/videographer – nacala - 2025
This is a role that covers all areas of our organization and can be short or long term. This is a vital role for communicating with our donors and supporters! This person would have experience or excellent natural skills in Photography, Videography, Photo Editing, and any Marketing and Communications experience would be a huge bonus. This is a fun and vibrant role. Some understanding of brand representation would be great but not a requirement as can be trained in Nacala. Flexibility is a must as we all work together as a team, helping one another where needed.

Office manager - Nacala - 2025
We are looking for someone well organised and a natural administrator ready to serve in a general capacity that can join our Mozambique team. You will be able to juggle day to day admin tasks, as well as managing monthly reports, and coordinating volunteer applications and hospitality arrangements for visitors. You will be an integral part of our team, bringing together many areas to keep us running effectively and smoothly…You will also have plenty of opportunity to get involved in other areas of our organisation if you wish. This person will have excellent organisational, computer and time management skills. Integrity and flexibility is a must as we all work together as a team, helping one another where needed.

teacher – nacala - 2025
We are in need of a teacher to help organise and run our educational programs, in our women’s centre and within our community. You will co-ordinate and refine curriculum, help train a local helper, as well as run classes and organise needed materials. We offer literacy, health and human rights education, with the desire to add ESOL and small business management in the future as possible workshops for women in our community. This ideal person will have experience in teaching, as well as team management and planning. You will be a peoples person with patience and the commitment to learn Portuguese. An understanding of working cross culturally would be a big bonus. Being an organised and well planned individual is a must. You must also be flexible as will also have interaction and input with various other areas of our organisation, and the women we serve. Bible or Missions School Education and experience in vocational training or community work would be an added bonus but isn’t a requirement.

HAIRDRESSER – NACALA - 2025, 2026
We are in need of a hairdresser to run a minimum three week hairdressing block course. This is based at the Liberty Centre in Nacala, and will be part of our Beauty Vocational Training Program to train and equip vulnerable women, to empower them and their families for a stronger future. You will know how to demonstrate and teach basic techniques from washing and cutting to the colouring and styling of caucasian hair, along with hair care and customer service in a commercial environment. An understanding of working cross-culturally would be a benefit, understanding Portuguese is a huge bonus, but translation will be available. Bible or Missions School Education and experience in vocational training or community work would be an added bonus but isn’t a requirement.
operations manager - Nacala - 2025
We are looking for a male Operations Manager to join our Liberty Nacala team.This is a long term role with a 3 year minimum commitment at our base in Nacala Northern Mozambqiue.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent practical and managerial background, along with relevant experience in planning and project management.
Their practical skills and can-do attitude are essential. A proven track record of successfully leading teams while fostering disciple-making relationships is highly beneficial, as our organization represents Jesus in our unreached community. Additionally, the candidate must excel in problem-solving and adaptability, navigating cross-cultural challenges in a developing country. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential for liaising with local government and reporting to leadership.
A proven track record of successfully leading a team while building disciple making relationships is a huge benefit as we are a disciple making organization representing Jesus in our unreached community. You must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to be flexible under the pressures and challenges of cross-cultural life and the realities of living in a developing country, while also reporting to leadership and liaising with local government. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

HOSPITALITY department lead - 2024/2025
We are in need of someone experienced in the cafe/hospitality industry to lead the training and execution of the re-opening of Liberty Cafe in Nacala. You will have experience in business and hospitality in a similar cafe or restaurant and be passionate about business in missions. This is a two-four year minimum commitment missionary role with the goal of training a local cafe manager to a excellent standard. You will lead the day to day operations of The Liberty Cafe and be responsible for the development and training of our Liberty Cafe staff. This cafe offers employment and on the job training to women from backgrounds of exploitation and is key in breaking the cycle of poverty and slavery. This cafe is a beacon of light and connection point in our community serving both the local and expatriate communities. Flexibility is a must as we all work together as a team, helping one another where needed.

Social media/comms intern – international 2025
We are looking for someone passionate social media and communications who is studying marketing or communications at university and looking for practical experience and an addition to their CV, or someone experienced who is equally passionate about what we do. This is a 6-12 month volunteer role where you will run our instagram and facebook platforms, along with our email communications to supporters. Skills in design or brand management would be a bonus but not necessary.

NACALA PROGRAMS MANAGER - 2025
This is a long term role with a 3 year minimum commitment at our base in Nacala Northern Mozambqiue.
The Programs Manager will ensuring the smooth day to day running of all Liberty Project programs such as the phase one introductory Freedom Program, and phase two focused Vocational Training courses. You will oversee the department leads ensuring that our values are upheld and goals met in each course for our beneficiaries.
The ideal candidate will have a background in administration, project management and team leadership. Their proven track record includes successfully running programs with multiple priorities and a team of people to achieve specific goals and outcomes. Experience in disciple making is a huge benefit as we are a disciple making organization representing Jesus in our unreached community, across all our programs this is our foundation. Additionally, the candidate will need excellent problem-solving skills and be able to be flexible under the pressures and challenges of cross-cultural life and the realities of living in a developing country and serving broken and vulnerable women.
Working together with your team and reporting to the Liberty leadership and working in accordance of Liberty Core Values is essential.
