LIBERTY 4X4 FOR FREEDOM!
We are in need of a strong, 10 seater Toyota LandCruiser to equip our organisation for our work!
Will you partner with us and help meet our urgent need of a 4x4 vehicle? 2021 has began and we’re without vehicle to enable our work.
Please tell your friends, engage your home group or workplace, run a fundraiser, or take a collection…or get social and share our campaign on Instagram and Facebook!

WHAT WE DO AT THE LIBERTY PROJECT IN NORTHERN MOZAMBIQUE…
It’s been a fruitful year here at the Liberty Project despite the world navigating Covid and our Province battling a violent war with insurgents, We thank God for the utter privilege we have of inviting women who have fled this war into our womens centre, here we are able to minister to their pain and traumatic experiences through the love of God! We focus on establishing true identity of value and purpose as Father Gods most beloved while also equipping them with basic health and human rights education and new skills to develop and empower them to know Gods purpose for their lives! Each day our small team invest into these precious lives and we are so encouraged as we see trauma and pain begin to heal, true freedom and identity is gained through the power of love and the message of salvation through the gospel of Jesus!
THE END OF AN ERA WITH LAURA'S LANDROVER…NOW WE NEED A MIRACLE!
While we are busy working towards our goal of brining freedom and true identity to women in Northern Mozambique through discipleship, basic education and new skills training there is a LOT of background work that has to happen to open our womens centre each day to these beautiful women, and to run our Noviani teenage girls program..and for our organisation to function we need a good, strong and mechanically sound 4x4 vehicle. Construction is ongoing at the womens centre, supplies need to be carried, staff need to be transported and until now we have had the blessing of using our Founder, Lauras Landrover Defender. Sadly this past weekend the 12th of September the head gasket blew causing major breakages throughout the engine. The Landrover Defender is 20 years old and because of it’s age and ongoing mechanical issues we have made the faith decision not to raise money to fix it (because constantly empties our resources needed in other areas and interrupts our work), but instead to stand in faith and believe to raise money for a second hand reliable, easily fixable, strong Toyota Land Cruiser. This is equivalent in size, strength and function for the rural dirt and sand roads we drive, and for the transporting of supplies, people and towing trailers that we do on the day to day. (See below for how we use a 4x4 at The Liberty Project!)
Here’s where we need your help!
Unfortunately our quest to raise $40,000 in four weeks to purchase as vehicle we found for sale within Mozambqiue was unsuccessful. We are now continuing the fundraiser to import a second hand Toyota LandCruiser from Duabi, South Africa or Japan…wherever we find the best quality for the best price. Unfortunately now this means we also have to pay customs import tax duties on the vehicle…this can be up to 100% of the values of the vehicle. We face a mountain but we believe all with God this will be possible. IN faith we continue raising believing for a LandCruiser for the right price and generous partners to get us get there.
We pray for hearts moved to partner with us in this work to bring the Gospel of Jesus to Mozambique! Will you be part of the practical opportunity to equip us and allow us to do our work and minister to vulnerable women? Click below to make an urgent contribution today and help us reach our goal. We are standing in faith thanking God for those of you who will help us get back on the road to bring freedom, transformation and true identity to women of Northern Mozambique with a Liberty Toyota LandCruiser in 2020!
Intercessors will you begin praying for this provision in for us?
WHY WE NEED A 4X4 AT THE LIBERTY PROJECT….
PROGRAMS TRANSPORT AND ACTIVITIES
Some of our favourite things to use the 4x4 for is going on trips with our ladies like this trip to the beach in 2019 for baptisms! We also need a big 4x4 for collecting visitors and missionaries from the airport and transporting them on the field.
RURAL MOZAMBIcan ROADS
Mozambican rural roads are a 4x4-ers dream or nightmare. Here is rural road in our province at the end of rainy season…Trips on our dirt roads in rainy season requires strong 4x4s to get through or to get us out of a bog like in this situation!
MOBILE OFFICE
When out and about in villages, in the city or travelling inter-provincially the back of the 4x4 can be used for transporting staff and even holding meetings like here below with Mila and Brigita.
SUPPLIES TRANSPORT
Here in Pemba wether we are building a fence, renovating the Liberty Womens Community Centre or setting up a new vegetable garden, we are required to arrange our own materials, supplies and their transport….and often transport the tradesmen too! Here is our local hardware store below, this picture was taken when collecting 6 sacks of cement.
TOWING WATER
Government infrastructure here in Pemba is very hit and miss and water often only comes in once per month meaning water must be self sourced to fill our tanks. This means twice weekly the old Landrover was used to tow tanks of water to our missionaries home…water is life and a strong towing capable 4x4 is a necessity.
RAINY SEASON
Rainy season is due to begin in November/December in Northern Mozambique. This season brings six months of torrential rain which turns roads into rivers, dirt into deep mud pits and often brings with it the cyclones, like Cyclone Kenneth in 2019 which displaced thousands here due to unrelenting rains and flooding…we were only able to access our ladies to move them to higher ground and our village roads via 4x4.
